Intuit / Xtify Application Contest for Location Aware Apps

Intuit has announced a competition to build and publish a location-aware business application on the Intuit Workplace using the Intuit Partner Platform Flex SDK AND the Xtify Flex API.

Details are as follows:

Prize:
Grand Prize - $7,000
1st Place - $4,000
2nd Place - $1,500

Judging Criteria:
Grand Prize:
The application that receives the most unique location-enabled Intuit Workplace users
by the end contest: 8/05/09

1st & 2nd Place (determined by the judging panel):
- 50 points: Application’s ability to solve a business problem by being location-aware
- 50 points: Ease of use and delight for customers

Symbian Partner Event, San Francisco, 4th Dec

With Symbian OS going open source the Symbian Partner Events also seems to follow the path and have opened up the event to a wider group of attendees - such as mobile developers, journalists, the open source community, and representatives of companies that may be considering partnering with Symbian.

Anyone interested in attending should register their interest as soon as possible via the event website.

MoMo Monsoon Event in Bangalore On August 30, 2008

Mobile Monday Bangalore is organizing its August event as a daylong program on Saturday, the 30th of August, 2008 between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore’ (IIMB) Main Auditorium, Bannerughatta Road, Bangalore.

Christened as MoMo Monsoon this event aims to create a splash pool of issues, ideas, challenges and opportunities in order to evoke interest and excitement of all stakeholders in the Mobile VAS ecosystem.

Mobile Monday is a global community of wireless industry professionals with more than 70 chapters worldwide. The open community promotes the wireless industry. It fosters cooperation and networking among interest groups, industry and their companies by providing the logistics and opportunities for personal and virtual contacts. It is an open forum.

The Bangalore chapter of Mobile Monday started its activities in June 2006 and is the first Mobile Monday chapter in India.

Mobile Monday Bangalore popularly known as MoMo Bangalore, is registered as a not for profit organization (Trust). There are more than 700 registered members on its mailing list.

Being an open community organization, Mobile Monday Bangalore relies on forward looking companies to support it’s operations. OnMobile Global Limited and Forum Nokia are the annual sponsors of Mobile Monday Bangalore.
